The 2017-2018 REFLECTIONS Program theme is "Within Reach."

The Robinson PTSA encourages RSS students to enter original works of art, literature, photography, musical composition, dance choreography, or original film that reflect this theme. Entries are due in the Main Office on Friday, November 3, 2017 by 3:30 pm with an official entry form.

Winning entries for each category will represent Robinson Secondary School at the Fairfax County Council PTSA contest. (Middle School and High School entries are judged separately.) Winning entries may go on to the District, State, and National competitions. This is a wonderful way to showcase the diverse creativity and talent of our Robinson community!

What is the Reflections Program?

The National PTA Reflections Program, established in 1969, is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.

Participation and appreciation for the arts is the Reflections Program's goal. Although the Reflections Program follows a "contest" format, winning should not be the emphasis. Participation in the Reflections Program is a great way for students to explore and learn about various art forms. Creating art is a valuable learning process that challenges students to use their critical thinking skills as well as their creative talents to create art that supports a specific theme.

Are all students of Robinson Secondary School eligible to participate?
